月牙泉是敦煌最近的旅游景區。

月牙泉位于甘肅省敦煌市城南五公里，占地面積三百平方公里，包括鳴沙山，其山東西長四十公里，南北寬二十公里，主峰海拔一千七百米。月牙泉處于鳴沙山環抱之中，其形似一彎新月而得名。
